Emerson was no longer a rookie, but an experienced and consistent driver, capable of competing with the biggest names in Formula 1. However, after the fourth victory, Lotus went through a difficult period, and Jackie Stewart would win the title owing to his consistency.

The fourth race of the 1973 season was held at Montjuïc, in front of an passionate crowd, including Paco Bultó, founder of Bultaco. Bultó, a great Formula 1 enthusiast, knew how to promote his brand and, availing on Emerson’s fame, invited him to visit the Bultaco facilities and presented him with a Bultaco Pursang 250 Mk6, sporting the same colours as Emerson’s helmet. The Pursang Mk6 gained historical notoriety when Jim Pomeroy won his first motocross Grand Prix on it.

Emerson ended up taking the bike back to his hometown, but years later he sold it. However, 40 years after first getting it, his friend and two-wheel enthusiast Paulo Loco tracked down the bike. Without hesitation, he bought it, meticulously restored it and, on the occasion of Emerson’s birthday in 2018, held a gathering of friends during which he offered the Bultaco back to its rightful owner. It is precisely that motorbike, loaded with historical significance, that we can see in this collection.
