In September 2013, at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the production version was launched, and after 918 units were produced, its manufacture ended in June 2015.
The 918 Spyder was the second Porsche plug-in hybrid and goes down in history as the German carmaker’s first hybrid supercar.
The engine is powered by a mid-mounted naturally aspirated 4.6-litre V8 engine, with two electric motors delivering an additional 283 hp, which gives this Porsche more than enough power and torque to reach 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds. In 100% electric mode it has a range of 19 km.
With all-wheel drive, it combines the brand’s competition technology pedigree with reduced fuel consumption, an array of arguments that shows, once again, that the brand knows how to follow market needs and trends.
