Caramulo Museum – 50 years of movement art

Exhibition Type
Temporary Exhibition
31 Oct 2003
— 9 Nov 2003

The Museu do Caramulo holds the temporary exhibition “Museu do Caramulo: 50 Anos de Arte em Movimento” (Museu do Caramulo: 50 Years of Art in Motion) to mark the launch of the catalogue of its collection.

This is a unique opportunity to see, in Lisbon, works by Picasso, Léger or Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso, as well as objects of the museum’s automobile, motorcycle and bicycle collection.

The exhibition and the launch of the Catalogue of the Fundação Abel de Lacerda Collection will take place at the Palácio Foz, where, in 1956, Abel de Lacerda organised an exhibition with the goal of promoting the seminal idea, which, some years later, would give life to the Museum. This exhibition also wanted to pay tribute to the brothers Abel e João de Lacerda, founders of the Museu do Caramulo.

The catalogue is presented by Professor Raquel Henriques da Silva and the Minister of Culture, Pedro Roseta, will officially open the exhibition.

Open from October 31 to November 9, 2003, this exhibition is possible thanks to the sponsorship of Banco Português de Negócios, Portugal Telecom, Lusitânia Seguros, Instituto da Comunicação Social, Câmara Municipal de Lisboa and Câmara Municipal de Tondela.
