“Hereditas” is the result of a collaboration between Museu do Caramulo and Vasco Araújo. Along with the other two works, it reveals the artist’s concerns with memory and identity. The video “Hereditas” takes place in the mountain and the sanatoriums, the elements that best describe Caramulo, and was exhibited in Madrid, at the 2007 edition of Arco- Contemporary Art Fair.
Working mainly on video and photography, Vasco Araújo is represented in national and international institutions, such as the Museu de Serralves (Oporto), the Centro de Arte Moderna da Fundação Gulbenkian (Lisbon), the Museo Reina Sofia (Madrid), and the Centre Georges Pompidou (Paris). At the opening was also launched the book “Hereditas”, a joint edition of Museu do Caramulo and Assírio e Alvim publishing house, with texts by Isabel Carlos (art critic and curator of the latest editions of the Sydney and Venice Biennales) and João Silvério (curator of the collection of the Fundação Luso-Americana).
