After premiering at Cinema São Jorge and on RTP2, the documentary “João de Lacerda: O Coleccionador Visionário” (’João de Lacerda: The Visionary Collector’) is now available online.
To understand the car collection at the Caramulo Museum, it is essential to know the story of its founder, whose passion for speed was matched only by his fascination with the history of the automobile and its protagonists. Every time a classic car takes to the road, bringing joy to its occupants and those who see it pass by, the work of João de Lacerda continues.
The documentary ‘João de Lacerda: The Visionary Collector’ – which portrays the life and work of João de Lacerda (1923 – 2003), who continued, through a distinguished mission, the work begun by his father, Dr. Jerónimo de Lacerda, and his brother, Abel de Lacerda, in his native land, Caramulo – brings together more than ten testimonials from different personalities who knew João de Lacerda and studied his work, such as António José Veloso (doctor at the Sanatorium), Artur Santos Silva (lawyer and manager), José Barros Rodrigues (historian) and Adelino Dinis (journalist), as well as a wide range of archive images and different period films.
