Lamborghini Lisbon has renewed its sponsorship of the 1971 Lamborghini Miura P400 SV from the Museu do Caramulo’s collection. Launched in 2012, the Museu do Caramulo’s Sponsorship Programme aims to establish a direct association between companies – or individuals – and vehicles from the museum’s permanent collection, providing targeted support for their conservation and maintenance over the course of a year.
About the Lamborghini Miura P400 SV (1971)
Regarded as the world’s first supercar, the Lamborghini Miura broke new ground by featuring a transversely mounted mid-engine layout and one of the most beautiful bodies in the history of the automobile industry – a design still celebrated today for its pioneering and exquisite lines. It was among the most coveted sports cars of its time.
At its first public appearance, at the 1965 Turin Motor Show, the Miura was presented only as a rolling chassis and powertrain, without its bodywork. Over the years, the Miura underwent several improvements, particularly to its engine, in order to deliver increased power. Overall build quality was also refined, and after the 100th unit was produced, the model’s structure was reinforced, which contributed to an increase in overall weight.
The stunning Lamborghini Miura P400 SV at the Museu do Caramulo left the Sant’Agata Bolognese factory on 22 April 1971 and belongs to the final series of this legendary supercar. In 1985, it returned to the Italian factory for a full mechanical overhaul, repainting and reupholstering. Today, it remains in excellent condition.
