The art collection of the Museu do Caramulo has been enriched with two Chinese porcelain plates from the Qing Dynasty (c. 1730), donated in memory of Maud Queiroz Pereira.

The artistic and decorative quality of these pieces, combined with their historical significance, not only reinforces the typological representativeness of the existing collection, but also offers the public new perspectives on the production of ceramics during the Yongzheng period (1723–1735).

This reign, marked by administrative stability and the direct patronage of the arts by the imperial court, drove a remarkable technical and aesthetic evolution in porcelain, evident in the sophistication of the colour palettes, the precision of the designs and the integration of classical motifs reinterpreted according to the refined taste of the time.

These two donated pieces are now on display, forming part of the decorative arts section of the Museu do Caramulo’s art collection.
